Candy—framed loose canvas—was made in December of 2023. During this time, I was meditating on simple portraits, often in monochrome palettes. I lived on Princess Street downtown at the time and had a different bedroom studio. I painted more on loose, unframed canvas in this space… something I’m always returning to. But now, but with beads, thread, and more of a tactile approach.
